Distance learning
In the world of distance learning, current trends far surpass simply putting manuals, knowledgebases and instructional documentation online. It is, instead, a matter of offering high value-added instructional services and resources to students of all ages, from all over Quebec and around the world. Professors are implicated at all stages not only as teachers, but also because these technologies help them to keep their own knowledge up-to-date throughout their professional lives.
Therefore, RISQ takes an active interest in all of its members' distance learning projects, and constantly surveys developments in the field worldwide. The main areas of activity are the following:
- Support for interactive devices for distance learning;
- Support for high-bandwidth multimedia instructional resources;
- Support for high-quality, high-definition videoconferencing systems;
- Support for decentralized learning communities.
