Environment

The RISQ equipment room is located in Montreal. It is home to RISQ's servers (email, Web, QIX, Akamai, resource providers, etc.), the Network Operations Centre, several production routers, and the pre-production testing laboratory for routing and transmission equipment.

This room is equipped with a 400 amps distribution panelboard with a double-redundant power supply, a 225 kVA uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and a 300 kW backup diesel generator, according to "n+1" standard. Ventilation is provided by six independant industrial air conditioning and humidification units. Electronic systems provide access control and video-monitoring systems supervised by security officiers on premises 24/7/365.

RISQ's PoPs are mainly located on the premises of university and college members.
