The primary mission of this high-performance network is to offer its members a range of reliable, customizable and affordable services:
- RISQ internet connectivity, providing an unlimited connection to RISQ's high-performance optical network, for unlimited communications with other member sites and for setting up virtual networks linking distant sites and campuses.
- Commercial internet connectivity allows optional access to networks outside the "RISQ Internet" zone. This service includes a guaranteed level of commercial Internet bandwidth at very competitive prices.
- CA*net connectivity, is also an optional service, consisting of access to the CA*net optical network. This network links Canadian higher education and research networks with each other and with next-generation research networks worldwide.
- Optional and completely configurable USENET service, providing full access to thousands of newsgroups.
- RISQ's technical expertise and non-commercial nature allow it to offer a range of additional services for broadband IP networks.
In addition, RISQ offers also support for the advanced applications that are increasingly crucial to scientific research, such as high-performance scientific computing (HPC), grid computing, scientific and medical imaging, and High Definition telepresence.
