Highlights
- Pre-determined Internet throughput, adjustable monthly, at very competitive rates.
- Reliable and redundant service.
- "RISQ Internet" traffic not billed, producing great savings.
- Peak Levelling option allowing temporary bandwidth overflows with no additional fee.
RISQ offers its members Internet traffic transport services that allow them to access networks outside the "RISQ Internet" zone. It thus guarantees them a predetermined level of throughput to the commercial Internet, at very competitive rates. Furthermore, it offers them more flexiblility than any standard Internet supplier.
The providers RISQ works with are companies that operate very high bandwidth transcontinental backbones with multiple links to other continents. Redundant supply from different providers guarantees extremely robust Internet service.
The aggregated purchasing power of all RISQ members results in very advantageous prices. Bandwidth can be arranged on a monthly, on-demand, or as-needed basis. This flexibility is particularly appealing during lower-traffic periods or school holidays. It should also be noted that a significant portion of traffic is not billed since it is used within the "RISQ Internet" zone comprising all of RISQ's members. As a result, the volume and cost of commercial Internet bandwidth is greatly reduced.
Finally, RISQ offers the Peak Levelling option. The idea is to allow temporary bandwidth allocation overflows with no additional fee; the overflows are balanced by lower-traffic periods. This is another novel and efficient way to reduce members' Internet connectivity costs by accounting for their characteristics and needs.
