Michel Vanier, Chief Executive Officer

Michel Vanier has been Chief Executive Officer of RISQ since 2004. He is also a member of the board of CANARIE, the organization managing the development of the Canadian advanced research network. Before joining the organization he held a number of positions at Université de Montréal, including Associate General Manager, information and communication technology. Previous to that, he acted as the university’s Y2K coordinator, being responsible for preparation and response. Mr. Vanier is an experienced manager with over 20 years in IT resource administration. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Université de Montréal and a diploma in administration from the MBA program at HEC Montréal. He was also an instructor in the university's computing and operational research department, where he taught courses in software engineering and other subjects.
